On Energy Independence: A Message Regarding Ukraine
On Energy Independence
As we stand on the precipice of another war, we are faced once again with the question: Why are energy resources still the currency of violence?
From the Middle East to Russia, Americans are constantly in a moral crisis directly associated with humanitarian aid versus fiscal ties to the fossil fuel industry.
But what if energy was not a part of the world's decisions?
How many more times will global markets be swayed by the price of a barrel of oil? How many more times will nuclear power plants lead to potential disaster?
When will the world realize that exploiting our dirtiest natural resources is not the answer but instead the problem?
While we watch the horrors and support the innocent, let's all ask ourselves how we got here and how we can move forward?
At EMA, we support the many companies pledged to renewable energy independence and the innovators leading the charge to a cleaner future.
While few still argue about the threat of climate change, we can make a clear case that every military engagement our world has seen in the last three decades is directly tied to our addiction to fossil fuels.
Let's cut the ties and start anew.
Peace and Love to all in Ukraine.
