Author, sustainability advocate, technologist, Glamour Magazine's Women of the Year—the list goes on and on. Can you give our audience a brief overview of how you became an environmental polymath?

My journey began with a fascination for science and a deep commitment to sustainability after winning the Grand Prize at the Google Science Competition with a solution addressing climate change through technology. That milestone laid the groundwork for my subsequent ventures into sustainable technologies and advocacy, blending my skills and passions to drive meaningful environmental change.

We are delighted to have you speak at our upcoming EMA IMPACT Summit! Why is it critical for high-profile environmental events to include people of all ages and backgrounds?

It's essential! Events such as the EMA IMPACT Summit allow a comprehensive dialogue and approach to sustainability. Ultimately, doing so fosters creativity and innovation more broadly. We need people with solutions to collaborate, and IMPACT is the perfect venue. 

You're a sustainable fashion advocate. What work are you doing to assist the fashion industry moves towards a more sustainable and equitable future?

I advocate for integrating sustainable practices by promoting environmentally friendly materials and ethical manufacturing processes in the fashion industry. It is very important to align with fashion houses that speak to this and are pushing the industry towards greener alternatives.

Finally, since IMPACT highlights the work Hollywood is accomplishing to go green, was there a movie, TV show, or other piece of media that inspired your climate activism?

I loved "An Inconvenient Truth." The documentary's presentation on climate change fueled my commitment to advocating for sustainable solutions in every field I am involved in. I encourage everyone to watch it!
