EMA Partner Spotlight: How Sustainable Exchange is Fixing Carbon Credits

Have you heard of carbon credits? They are among the many "solutions" corporations tout to reach their sustainability goals. Unfortunately, the credit part isn't always impactful. WWF UK states, "Carbon offsetting does not reduce emissions at the source, and purchasing offsets should be a last resort after other measures to reduce or avoid emissions have been explored." That isn't to say a company can't genuinely offset its carbon footprint, but finding a trustworthy partner to broker the offset is challenging. Thankfully, Sustainable Exchange is here to fix that!

We spoke with our newest partners at Sustainable Exchange to learn more about their impactful climate solutions.

We are so thrilled to have you as a new partner! To tackle climate change, we need solutions on all fronts. Can you explain what solution sustainable Exchange brings to the table?

SustainAble Exchange provides a new platform for corporations, NGOs, sovereigns, universities, and all organizations to engage in sustainable efforts across all 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Members of SustainAble Exchange create specific goals & objectives as part of the commercial contracting process. Members provide goals & objectives in each defined contract on SustainAble Exchange. The goals are compared with actual outcomes in creating a new form of sustainable credits on the SustainAble Exchange: EnAble Tokens. EnAble Tokens arise from more traceable commercial transactions than carbon credits, renewable energy credits, and other historic climate and sustainable incentives. SustainAble Exchange and the EnAble Tokens apply to our members' actions across all UN SDGs, as well as additional areas of sustainability identified by our members. Multiple UN SDGs focus on topics related to the planet & climate: SDG 6 Clean Water & Sanitation; SDG 7 Affordable & Clean Energy; SDG 11 Sustainable Cities & Communities; SDG 12 Responsible Consumption & Production; SDG 13 Climate Action; SDG 14 Life Below Water, and SDG 15 Life on Land.

Can you explain how a company can help reach its sustainability goals using Sustainable Exchange?

Companies set specific goals & objectives in a contract format as members of the SustainAble Exchange. Unlike contracts to purchase carbon credits or projects issuing renewable energy credits, companies and other SustainAble Exchange members established their specific targets/objectives as part of their business's commercial activity. We assess the goals & objectives against actual results within a defined area. These sustainable goals & objectives may apply to green revenue, R&D, clean and non-conflict commodities, purchasing/supply chain, etc. Companies define the benefits (if goals are satisfied) and incremental commitments (if goals are not met). The contracts may be unilateral, seeking a matching company, or bilateral.  In all cases, specific and objective standards are in place for companies to monitor their sustainable success. The success of companies on the SustainAble Exchange creates EnAble Tokens on our platform, which are valued based on the scope of actions and area. EnAble Tokens can be used within the network of SustainAble Exchange members (existing and new) to advance future commercial transactions with improved sustainable measures.

What are your plans for the EnAble All gaming platform?

EnAble ALL is our consumer game of action platform. The game will offer participants a Web2 and Web3 version for fun and positive engagement in sustainable activities within the community. 'Publishers' acquire points and EnAble Tokens to allocate on the platform. The points & tokens are acquired through donations and purchases associated with sustainable organizations ('Sponsors'). The combination of EnAble ALL Publishers & Sponsors will create tasks, actions, missions, and quests for EnAble ALL gamers to undertake to earn points and EnAble Tokens. These actions are real world community and global sustainable actions to improve our planet and lives. Companies and brands can overlay incremental incentives and loyalty rewards to increase the benefits to EnAble ALL gamers for their positive, sustainable actions.

Why is it critical for companies, whether they are B2B or B2C, to engage with the media and organizations such as EMA?

EMA provides the visionary voice in the evolving climate story. Government regulation and tax/carbon credits have not solved the increasing climate issue. EMA's track record and focus are needed to bring companies and consumers together to change the climate script. SustainAble Exchange plans to support EMA and grow the combined members and sponsors in a new format. SustainAble Exchange and EnAble ALL plan to work with EMA to engage companies and consumers on our mutual climate mission.

Finally, how can people get more information on Sustainable Exchange, and are there any promos?
