2019 Marks a Record Year for Our EMA Green Seal for Production
At the 2019 EMA Awards, we recognized 188 recipients with our EMA Green Seal for Sustainable Production. A record number! We are so thrilled to see so many TV and film sets committing to sustainability.
Have a Beautifully Sustainable Summer
Being sustainable shouldn’t put a damper on your sizzling summer fun—or hot looks for that matter. Keep your beauty routine sustainably clean with these simple tips:
Take Your Minerals
While frolicking in the waves this summer remember the sunscreen, but make sure it contains a good dose of minerals. Avoid ingredients like oxybenzone and octinoxate, which damage the ocean’s ecosystem. Instead, look for mineral derived and reef safe non-nano zinc and titanium dioxide to keep you (and your fish friends) happy and healthy.
Jet Set Sustainably
Traveling by plane often means swapping out your full-size products for travel-size to pass through TSA. Though those smaller bottles and jars aren’t so sustainable. Keep your traveling routine and still stay green by reusing your tiny containers multiple times by pouring a little from your larger bottles whenever you go.
Spare the Hair Days
Nothing is worse than blow drying hair when the summer sun turns up the heat, so why bother? Let your hair air dry and save some energy—and your delicate locks—in the process. Scrunch it while it's drying for an easygoing beachy look.
Rinse, Don’t Repeat
Instead of splashing multiple times to rinse off those hard to remove facial cleansers and masks, use a soft, damp washcloth to wipe away easily. Give your cloth a good rinse, then hang it to dry and reuse a few times before throwing it in the wash to save energy.
Keep It Cool
As things heat up, nothing beats drenching yourself with water to cool off. Why not keep your cool and get clean at the same time by turning down the heat when you the shower? It feels mighty refreshing and saves energy at the same time. And keep it short, so you can get back out there and enjoy the summer!
